Handle Settlement Details
Manage settlement details carefully to prevent problems and a lost or delayed sale. Schedule inspections, appraisals, conduct the buyer’s walk-through inspection, obtain all the necessary paperwork (including the legally required settlement statement and loan documents from the buyer’s lender). During the 30 days before your closing date, be sure to stay in touch with the lender every 2-3 days to make sure they have everything needed for closing and to make sure everything is staying on schedule. Be ready to answer any questions about the settlement details from the buyer, lender, and closing attorney.
As you know, the job of selling a home takes much more than just putting a sign in the yard and finding a buyer. But only you can decide if the services of a good real estate agent are worth it. Naturally, we think it is. Whether or not you decide to let us put your home on the market, we’re always here to help.
Referrals – Let’s Work Together
If you do decide to sell by yourself, we’d love to work with you. Will you please do us two favors?
1. Your potential buyer may need to sell their old home before they can purchase yours, and we specialize in helping people get homes sold faster and for more money. Your buyers will likely be counting on getting enough equity from the sale of their current home to help them purchase yours. Refer them to us so we can help them get their home sold quickly, which in turn will allow them the ability to purchase yours.
2. We would love to stay in touch with the people who looked at your home but didn’t buy it, for whatever reason. After all, helping people sell and buy is our business.
We wish you the best in the upcoming sale of your home. Don’t hesitate to contact us if we can help make the move much easier.
